Fundraising Ingenuity

In 2016, a group of kids decided they wanted to help change the world. They put together an incredible fundraiser to help raise money for patients in need across the globe. Check out this page to see how they did it and to get inspired for your own fundraiser! These kids showed the world it doesn’t matter where you are, or how old you are - you can always help make a difference. Contact us about holding your own fundraiser today!

We are 5th graders at MacFarlane Park World School in Tampa, Florida. As part of the International Baccalaureate program we must complete a project called our Exhibition Project.  In the Exhibition Project we choose a problem in our world, and all over the world.  Our group chose pacemakers.

As part of our Exhibition Project we must take an action towards helping to solve the problem we are researching.  We have chosen to raise money for a child in the Dominican Republic that is in need of a pacemaker, but who cannot afford it.  We hope to work with other 5th graders in Hillsborough County so that we can raise enough money for Heartbeat International to provide a pacemaker to the patient we are supporting.

May - June 2016

When you decide to work with us, we will provide you money collection cups.  We will ask you to Use Your Heart For A Change by filling these cups with your change, and asking all of your family and friends to do the same.   All of the money raised will go to Heartbeat International as a donation in order to provide a child in the Dominican Republic a second chance at life.  You can also donate here. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Then What

Our goal is to raise $7500 in our fundraising period.  The school that raises the most money will receive a trophy, and all schools will receive a Certificate of Appreciation and Participation.  However, we are not done once we collect the money, we will be following our patient for many years and continuing to help him/her as needed and notified by Heartbeat InternationalHeartbeat International follows each of their patients for their entire life.  That means that we will not only receive notice when our patients receives his or her pacemaker, but we will receive periodic updates on how well she/he is doing over the course of his/her life.

We are so excited about our Exhibition Project and making a difference in the life of a child like us.  Please join us in saving hearts, one pacemaker at a time.
